Speak Ya Peace Poetry Jam

On this thought provoking Thursday "Speak Ya Peace" @theArtWorks focuses on Women's History Month. The strength of a woman is bold, creative, energetic, and unstoppable. When Women come together all of that individual power turns into a force of change to improve life, break boundaries, glass ceilings, and create a lane for our voices, strengths, and natural prowess to take effect. What began in Sonoma California in 1978 within the school district was a week of celebrating women's contributions to culture, history, and society. That humble beginning has flourished into recognition within our Nation, and the Globe. The National Woman history Petitions diligence created a platform for Congress, and in 1987 the month of March became Women's History month. Not only are Women's contributions celebrated within our Nation, but Internationally Women's day is a global celebration that takes place every year on March 8th. Please join us as we celebrate the many accolades, strides, and courage of our sisters, mothers, wives, friends, and the list continues. In the words of Audre Lorde who was an American writer, feminist , womanist, librarian, and civil rights activist " I am not free while any woman is unfree, even if her shackles are very different from my own".
