Topher Alexander: Perspective
In a society obsessed with technology, my artwork is grounded in traditional mediums and materials. This exhibit is a survey of work from the past ten years including Vietnamese lacquer painting, oil painting, woodcut, intaglio printmaking and more.
Experimenting with multiple mediums allows me to constantly learn from creating art, each project informing the next. The past five years I have been particularly drawn to the umbrella of printmaking, creating multiple impressions is conducive to trying new approaches; each print the record of an evolution.
Topher Alexander earned a B.A. in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. A Husband and father of two, he currently serves as the Assistant Gallery Director at UNCW CAB Art Gallery and is printmaking instructor at the Cameron Art Museum School.
