theArtWorks™ houses a 7K square foot gallery, artists studios, coffee shop, wifi, and more. The gallery gives artists a place to work their work, the community an event venue. Studios include workspace, individual galleries and shop. Meeting and classrooms are also available. And of course, the coffee shop and wifi enhances space for conversations, meetings, and social interaction.
TheArtWorks™ is an art village showcasing Wilmington’s vibrant visual, literary, and performing arts. TheArtWorks™ provides art studios, gallery space, educational opportunities, and an event venue with the mission to foster a creative environment for artists and enhance Wilmington’s cultural community through art.
More than 45 artists actively create art and sell their wares through studios in TheArtWorks™. The range of mediums for sale includes original fine art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, photography, glass, and unique handmade gifts. The studios feature work spaces and mini galleries. TheArtWorks™ also sells a collection of international art.
Located at 200 Willard Street in a revitalized part of the original Block shirt factory, TheArtWorks™ is one mile from the heart of downtown Wilmington. A wedding reception, bar or bat mitzvah, trade show, or other special event could be held TheArtWorks™ 7,000+ square feet of versatile gallery space.
TheArtWorks™ also includes classroom where a wide variety of performing arts classes are taught, including voice, drums, and guitar, among other classes. Another educational offering is their Art Trash program, which provides arts education to economically disadvantaged members of the community from age 6 to adult.
TheArtWorks™ staff anticipates opening the gallery space six days a week in the summer of 2015.
