"Faces, Figures, and Interiors"

Could a face really launch a thousand ships? We look at faces every day, wherever we go, and
find a familiar one in the mirror on a regular basis. How do we see ourselves? How do we see
others? How do artists see themselves? How do they render the face of another?
And the figure… in some in art circles this means the nude, but not always. Figures have been
depicted as far back as cave paintings. There’s everything from Rembrandt to Ingres to
Cezanne to Picasso. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
What about interiors? This can mean the interior of your home––a room, a table setting, the inside
of a cup. Or it can mean the interior of your thought-bubbles, the ideas inside your mind, your
emotions. This concept is open to each artist’s interpretation.
How do artists choose what to depict? And are their creations beautiful, or intriguing, or troubling, shocking, inspiring, or peaceful? All these and more are legitimate ways art reaches out to others
from an origin which is, by definition, unique and personal.
How would you as the viewer choose to respond to this multi-faceted theme? Would you choose to
depict a face, a figure, or an interior? And why? Perhaps an informal study of this exhibition will
open up ideas and questions you might never have entertained.

Join us Easter weekend for a fun day of art and adorable baby bunnies! Children will each get their own ceramic bunny to paint and take home and have an opportunity to hold and pet baby bunnies! Happy Hoppsies Rabbit Rescue will be on site from 3:00-4:00 with some adorable bunnies for us to interact with and take pictures with for a special Easter memory.
This is a drop off event, but parents are welcome to come back and take pictures for the last part of the event. Light snacks and drinks will also be provided, as well as a small take home gift for each child. This event usually fills up quickly so be sure to register your child's spot soon!
